Wow, I'm really bad at blogging! Oopsy. I knew I would be. As much time as I spend on the computer (Pinterest, helloooo!), I'm just not a good writer. But I can also excuse myself by saying we had a bit of a busy summer. Is that an understatement?!? Let's see.... we both started new jobs, we got MARRIED, andddd we BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!!!!!!! Exciting but super busy summer!! Life changes galore!
So where did I leave off? We had made an offer on a house and they accepted. After that, it appraised for exactly what we offered (phew!!) and then inspection went fairly well. There were a few minor things but nothing worth fighting the seller over. We do know we will need to replace major things like the hot water heater, the furnace, and the air conditioner in the next ten years, but that's okay! The seller was great to work with and super nice. I think they loved that a young couple would be moving into their house and starting a family. :)
So then... we closed on the house... the week before our wedding... YIKES! Can you say high stress?!?! But we had to do what we had to do. Everyone told us we were crazy. And we are crazy. But, we were at the mercy of the market and the mercy of the seller. We did some negotiating with the landlord and extended the lease to the week AFTER the wedding to buy ourselves some time, and started packing.
Then we got married :) I'm not going to elaborate here too much because I'm *hoping* to do a separate post on the wedding once I get photos back. Do you have any idea how hard it is to wait on wedding photos??? I'm so excited and I'm not a very patient person. I CAN'T WAIT to see the pictures!!!
Then we honeymooned! We went to Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas and it was amazing. I never wanted it to end. It was the perfect intro to married life.
And thennnn... it was back to reality with a slap in the face. We got back home from our honeymoon around 1am, slept a couple hours, and then it was time to get moving. We had only TWO days to move everything out of the townhouse. And I have a LOT of stuff. (I reallyyyyy need to go through all of my dorm room crap from years ago and get rid of it. UGH). So again, a little crazy. Thankfully, my lovely parents came to visit, helped us pack, and helped us clean. We magically finished on time. Success.
And then we finally sat back and realized, hey, we're married! And we own a home! Woah!
Such an awesome feeling.
