Wedding Wednesday- DIY Seating Cards

Hello! Happy Wednesday! Welcome back to week two of Wedding Wednesdays, where I'm finally catching up and sharing some DIY wedding decor ideas :)
For anyone who has planned a wedding in recent years, you know the options for every part of the wedding are endless! Especially now that Pinterest exists. So when you type in something like "wedding seating cards" or "diy escort cards"  or "place cards" you get about ten zillion ideas! It can be overwhelming!
When I started thinking about seating cards, I knew I wanted something simple and easy because I had lots of other crafts to work on and because I realized that seating cards are only paper and get thrown away at the end of the day, so it seemed silly to spend too much time on them... but that certainly didn't mean they couldn't be CUTE! 
The inspiration for our seating cards actually came from our own wedding photographer, Anna Kerns. If you are in the DC metro area, check her out! She's an amazing photographer and probably the sweetest person ever. Seriously. Check out some of her gorgeous weddings on her blog.
Anyway, I had actually stumbled across Anna's DIY wedding before we even booked her as our photographer and loved all of her super cute decor. Since I knew Anna had been a DIY bride, I asked for lots of advice during the planning process leading up to our own wedding, and of course wanted to know about these adorable seating cards! When I found out how easy they were, I was sold!

Ready to learn how to make these pretty little cards? It's easy!

First, buy these pre-cut and pre-folded place cards from Paper Source. Don't you just love that store?

Order some pretty paper. We used Stardream Metallic paper in "lagoon" because that's what our invitations were made out of.

Head to your local craft store and pick up a Martha Stewart Edge Punch. We used the "doily lace" pattern.

Stock up on Glue Dots. These are such a great invention. Love.

Find your favorite pretty font (we used "Feel Script" and "Kepler" because that's what our invitations were) and type all of your guest names and table numbers in Microsoft Word (or whatever program you like to use). You may have to play with the size of the font to get it to fit on the cards since not all fonts are sized the same.
Print on the super pretty paper you ordered and cut each name to the width of the folded cards.
Before gluing, use your fancy new paper punch to edge each card. This was a craft I let Pete help with because it was actually pretty difficult to punch through this paper! Thank you, Mr. Muscles! ;)
Place glue dots on the back of the printed names, center the names on the cards, and lightly press. That's it! You're done! Told you it was easy. And so adorable, right? :)
