Hey! I can't believe it's the fourth week of the One Room Challenge already! I have to admit, it's starting to feel like we might not get it all done in time! Eeeeek! I hate that feeling! But before I get into all of the details, let me give you a quick recap in case you're just joining us.
In week 1, I shared a little bit about why my husband and I felt like we needed to update our "new" kitchen. In week 2, I discussed our design plans and some beautiful kitchens that I've been drooling over. In week 3, I showed you a little bit of our progress so far, including painting the cabinets and starting on the shiplap wall. And now, here we are, two weeks away from the reveal! Ahhhh!

So, what have I accomplished in the last week? Definitely not as much as I had hoped!!! My goal was to have the shiplap totally complete and to get started on the backsplash.... however, my son and I have both been sick all week, and it kind of put a damper on my plans. Also, as I mentioned last week, the pre-cut wood pieces I ordered for the "skinnylap" wall were in rougher shape than I anticipated. We had to hand sand every one of them!!! It took WAY longer than I had planned.
The good news? The skinnylap is installed and has a first coat of primer on it! Finally!
I still need to....
- Apply wood putty along the seams between skinny lap cuts
- Decide whether or not to fill the nail holes with wood putty
- Sand the wood putty
- Apply another coat of primer
- Paint with Sherwin Williams "Alabaster"
