Inspiring green kitchens and week three ORC progress
I'm back with a tiny bit more kitchen progress this week! In week one I shared my vision for a vintage inspired farmhouse kitchen, and today I can finally show you a little glimpse of that gorgeous green paint!!!
I am honored to be collaborating with Sherwin-Williams and Kingston Brass on this project. As always, I only promote brands that I love and think you will too.

Week 3 Kitchen Progress
This week's progress doesn't look like much, but I promise we've been working hard! Painting cabinets takes the longest out of everything on our list and the cabinets also need to cure before putting the doors back on, so it's important to paint them in the early part of the ORC.
Last week, I finished all of the white uppers. This week, I started on the green lowers, and I'm this close to finished.
I'm using Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel on the cabinets. Choosing a self leveling enamel is the key to a smooth finish and long lasting paint job.
I am a pretty experienced painter, and I have to say this has been quite the painting experience! I ran into some trouble with brush strokes on the upper cabinets, and ended up adding Floetrol to the lower cabinet paint. They look sooooo much better! I do hands down recommend this paint for cabinets because it's SO durable and kitchens get a lot of use. But I recommend either adding Floetrol to it or choosing the satin finish which will show less brush strokes due to less light reflection.
I'm thinking of doing a separate post on my updated cabinet painting method because I have learned a lot since my last cabinet post in our old kitchen. Let me know if that's something you would be interested in! 😊
The color I chose for the lowers is Sherwin-Williams "Privilege Green." It's much darker and bolder than I would normally choose, but I was craving a little contrast and thought the dark color would hide messy kid stains 😉
Green is also one of my favorite colors and goes well with the age of our home as I shared in last week's post about vintage kitchen design.
There's not much else to show you this week because cabinets take up so much time. Other than that, I ordered allllll of the things (including these chairs and these barstools) and I am pretty sure our FedEx guy hates me right now 🤣
This weekend we plan on working our butts off to finish the rest of the cabinets, install the coffee bar backsplash, and swap out our faucet.
In the meantime, I wanted to share some beautiful green kitchens that are inspiring me!!!
