Where to find beautiful printable art on a budget
Art is such an easy way to add character to your home, but it can often come with a high price tag. I almost always opt for free or affordable printable downloads of art unless I'm really in love with a piece and want the original. Printables make it easy to swap out art for a quick refresh and they are an affordable way to add interest to any room. I'm sharing my favorite sources for printable art below!

Library, university, and government archives- Digital archives are a great way to find FREE vintage paintings, sketches, and photos. They often are for personal use only and may not be of high quality for large size prints, but I frequently put them in smaller frames. The blackberry prints in our breakfast nook were found in a digital archive. Here's a few of my favorites: The NY Public Library | USDA Pomological Collection | Maryland Digital Collections
Also, if there is something specific you're looking for, try a Google Image Search! For example, type in "vintage botanical." Adjust the "tools" to show large images that are licensed for reuse. Tons of freebies!
Etsy- I've been buying digital prints on Etsy for a longggg time! They are usually under $10, but I often score less than $5!! Create an Etsy account so you can save your favorites and then keep an eye out for sales.
A few of my favorite art shops on Etsy: Printable Gift Finds | A la Carte Prints | Chaos and Wonder | Apartment 37
You can find my art favorites list here: Art Finds (Mostly printables, but there are some original vintage pieces mixed in!)
Juniper Print Shop- This one is pretty well known, but definitely worth sharing! Jenny Komenda curates a beautiful collection of affordable prints from very talented artists. No matter your style, you will find something!
I recently hung the Garden Roses collection in our kitchen entry by the stairs.
Shop Vintage Supply- This is a new favorite of mine! April has sourced beautiful vintage landscapes, portraits, and still lifes available as affordable digital downloads or fine art prints.
BFF Print Shop- This shop sells downloads of vintage art, line art, abstracts, photographs, etc. Another place to look no matter your style!
The prints in our kitchen gallery wall are a combination of Shop Vintage Supply, BFF Print Shop, and Etsy finds.
New Orleans | Peaches | Interior | Bowls | Roses | Landscape
Bloggers- Another great source for freebies! Bloggers often share free printable art. Some of my favorite pieces have been from blog friends! Not sure how to find it? Try searching Pinterest. I also have a Pinterest board with printables I have found over the years.
The olive prints on our stairwell are a freebie available from Gather and Flourish.
Two of my favorite bloggers to get art from are Craftberry Bush (this moody pear painting is my favorite!) and Blesser House.
Where do you print downloadable art?
I often print them myself at home on heavy weight paper or photo paper. (I just found out about this canvas paper and I can't wait to try!I have also printed art at Staples and Snapfish with great results!
Not into printing yourself and just want the real thing? Check out Minted for fine art pieces and Ebay for vintage oil paintings.
