It's been a little quiet the past few months here at Meet the B's. That's because there has been a lot going on behind the scenes, including a couple of secrets!
You already heard about our laundry room and pantry project. This was consuming a lot of our time. It's unfortunately been on hold for a while now because of a couple of other big things going on, but we hope to continue this big project soon! I'm so excited to finally have a decent laundry space and some extra kitchen storage!
In addition to the big laundry/pantry project keeping me busy, I was also secretly working on a huge surprise party for my husband's 30th birthday! Pete and his best friend, Billy, have birthdays a week apart and both turned thirty this year. So Billy's wife, my good friend Jenny, and I decided to join forces and plan the ultimate birthday surprise! We plotted and planned for months! Ultimately, we piled about 90 of our family and close friends into my backyard, and our husbands enjoyed the party of a lifetime! As you can imagine, planning this kept me pretty busy too. I was crafting away for the party, but of course couldn't share any of it with you, my readers, until after the surprise party passed. So, I hope you'll stick around to see some of those party crafts in the coming weeks!
The other big reason it's been so quiet around here is because I haven't had much energy for crafting, decorating, or projects. Between the laundry room and the party planning, I've been exhausted as is. On top of that, I've been pretty sick for the last few months, which brings me to my next secret! I haven't been very crafty because I've been plagued with a bad case of all day morning sickness!!! Pete and I are expecting our first little one! (I never thought I could be excited about nausea and vomiting!)
That's the announcement we shared with our friends and family on Facebook a few weeks ago. I had fun looking through our engagement and wedding pictures to compile the collage. I used my new macro lens* to shoot the ultrasound picture and snapped a few shots of the beautiful azaleas in our yard while I was at it ;)
A bun in the oven also means exciting things for the blog! We finally have a reason to do something with the currently empty spare bedroom! Let the nursery planning begin! Just as soon as I have the energy and the stomach to start a new project, we'll be working hard on preparing the room! The window frames need replaced, the carpet needs to be redone or removed, and we hope to do something with the old school closet doors. So we've got our work cut out for us before we can start decorating!
I also plan on sharing a little bit of my pregnancy journey here on the blog. I think it will be fun to share little tidbits and tips I learn along the way! Don't worry, the whole blog won't become mushy gushy baby stuff, but there will definitely be some posts here and there.
