Alright, alright, I know I've been slacking! Cade is almost four months old (Ahhhh! Where has the time gone?!), and I haven't shown you his nursery yet! It was mostly finished before he was born, other than hanging curtains and a couple of finishing touches, but I've been a busy momma and haven't had the time to take photos. Well, I go back to work next week (noooooo!), so I figured I better take photos now before I really don't have time!

Just in case you missed it, you can check out the original plans for our sweet little guy's hot air balloon nursery.
Here's a quick ugly carpeted before shot...
We refinished the hardwood floors ourselves. It was quite a task for us first timers! We rented an orbital sander from Home Depot to strip the old varnish and stain. Then we stained them with Minwax Classic Grey stain. We topped it off with Helmsman satin spar urethane.
After the floors were done, we installed all new moldings and painted them in Sherwin Williams "Zurich White." I've always hated the ugly floor-to-ceiling closet doors, so we trimmed them out with molding too to fancy them up a little bit. I'm still on a hunt for some new knobs!
The navy blue curtain panels are from Target. Last week, I showed you how I modified the curtains to save some cash.
The height board was the first thing I made for the nursery. I love how the paper hot air balloons turned out, and they were such a fun craft to make! Get the tutorial to make your own.
Guests brought books to my baby shower to build Cade's library. I made this cute little book storage crate to hold them all! I think I might make another one to keep downstairs!
It's so hard to find an affordable glider that is comfortable!! We searched everywhere, and then I realized that Target actually carries a pretty nice glider for way cheaper than anywhere else I had looked! The neutral color is perfect for this space, and it's super cozy!
That banner behind the chair is a really simple DIY. I cut triangle shaped pennant flags from scrapbook paper and used a small hole punch and some jute twine to string them together.
I am so in love with the bedding! It is a custom design by Carousel Designs. I am so happy with how it turned out, and I will definitely be using Carousel Designs again in the future. You can see my fabric choices on my nursery mood board.
The letters above the crib are from Craft Cuts. They have so many fonts, sizes, and materials to choose from! I ordered the letters of Cade's name in MDF and painted them with acrylic paint to match his bedding.
My favorite part of the whole room is this view...
First of all I love the modern grey dresser. I found a changing pad from Fern Leslie Baby made of the same navy herringbone fabric as the crib bedding. The shelf gallery is the best part! I worked so hard on all of the artwork!
On the top shelf, the succulents are in a terracotta pot that I painted. Then, there is a framed print that I made with Cade's birth stats (promise to share the tutorial soon!). That "Never stop exploring" canvas is a score from TJ Maxx. I love the wood slice art which I created using the same tutorial as my previous wood slice art.
The stuffed animal lamb is so soft and was a gift that my parents gave me when they found out I was pregnant. Cade's first stuffed animal! So sweet :) I added a photo of Pete and I from our maternity shoot with Anna Kerns Photography. We always have so much fun when she does photos for us! She's the sweetest.
I made the footprint art when Cade was ten days old. Painting a newborn's foot is not as easy as you would think, but I'm so glad that I will always have this momento of how tiny he was! The little square canvas is another DIY. I used my favorite font transfer method to add the text, and then I painted some tribal markings in the nursery colors.
I love that little hashtag sign. I used some left over balsa wood from my DIY jewelry organizer. Gave it a quick coat of paint and wrote Cade's instagram hashtag on it! To make the hot air balloon art, I followed the same steps as I did for the height board tutorial. The mason jar holds all of Cade's pacifiers which he refuses to use! Stubborn boy ;)
I could not be happier with how it all turned out!! I love our color choices and the fun adventurous theme. I love that hot air balloons are a little different and not something that has been overdone (yet!). It was such a fun project to work on, and I can't wait to see how it evolves as Cade gets bigger!
